What does an appraisal cost?

A verbal appraisal is free, with no obligation. We'll tell you honestly what your items are worth on today's market. If you need a written appraisal for insurance, probate or equitable distribution, we provide those for a small fee.

Do you come to me?

Yes. We make house calls throughout Sarasota, Nokomis, Venice, Osprey, North Port, Englewood and Bradenton. For a single item you're welcome to send a photo first, but for a collection or a full estate it's almost always better for us to see it in person.

How quickly can an estate be settled?

Usually days, not months. Auction galleries wait for their next catalog sale and estate-sale companies need weeks to stage an event. We can appraise, make a cash offer and settle quickly — which matters when a house is being sold or a family lives out of state.

Do you take the whole estate, or only the valuable pieces?

The whole estate. Many companies cherry-pick the best items and leave the family with the rest. We handle everything from high-value collectibles down to ordinary household goods, and if we can't sell something at top value ourselves, we have partners who can.

What is my item actually worth?

That depends on condition, rarity and what the market is paying right now — not on a price guide. Forty years of appraising means we can tell you what something will genuinely bring, including when the honest answer is that it isn't worth much.
